It’s cold and snowy outside, but the days are getting longer and the seed catalogues have started to arrive in the mail. We, here at the Food Action Committee, have started daydreaming of spring. And so, here’s a teaser about our upcoming cooking series….
Promises of spring: March 14, 21 and 28, 6-8:30 pm
Local Source Market, 5783 Charles Street, Halifax
Cost: $15-25 per night (sliding scale)
We’re still putting the finishing touches on the menu. So far our recipes include carrot and ginger soup, spaghetti squash with tomato sauce, lentil soup, desserts using apples and winter pears. And we have invited some farmers to join us and tell us more about what they have planned for the upcoming growing season.
